HabitRing Privacy Policy

HabitRing is a habit tracker for Garmin watches, published by Stenite AB.

What stays on your watch

Everything you track. Habit names, colors, targets, schedules, reminders and your day-by-day history are stored only on your watch. They are never transmitted anywhere and we cannot see them.

What we collect

To understand whether the app works and is being used, HabitRing sends anonymous usage events to our analytics provider (PostHog, hosted in the EU):

• Event names: app opened, a habit was marked/added/deleted, a setting changed
• Counts and settings attached to those events (e.g. how many habits you have, a habit's daily target) — never names or content
• Your watch's model and the app version
• A device identifier provided by the watch, used only to count unique users and retention; it is not linked to your name, Garmin account, or any other profile

No health data, no location, no contact information, and nothing you type is ever collected.

Opting out

Settings → “Share usage” inside the app turns all of this off. The switch takes effect immediately and also deletes any queued events on the watch.

Data handling

Events are transmitted through Garmin's phone connection over HTTPS and stored by PostHog on EU servers. We retain them only for product analytics and share them with no one.
